Silent Room x Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2020

I was approached by the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival to develop a site-specific installation. I was asked to propose an iteration of one of my previous project the Silent Room for their festival edition of 2020. The proposal finds its inspiration in classical architecture, renaissance palettes, and spaces that belong to the fictional, poetic and imaginary: a recollection of piers, lighthouses, floating theaters, water towers. This project was an opportunity to bring forward the ambivalent experience of sound versus silence. At one of the world’s most renown, crowded, and loud music festival, the towers offered the opportunity to momentarily retreat within silence.

The proposal was devised in collaboration with Gabriele Pascolini and Gabriele Motta.
